Lee Terry to LGBTs: Drop dead (Part VII)

In April of 2009, Terry voted against HR 1913, which
  • Expands definition of a hate crime to include felonies motivated by prejudice based on national origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity of the victim (Secs. 3, 6).
  • Allows federal law enforcement to assist state, local, or tribal governments in the investigation or prosecution of any hate crime (Sec. 3).
  • Establishes grants for state, local, or tribal enforcement of hate crime laws (Secs. 3, 4).
